Forty-four years ago, a tiny angel came to earth with broken wings.
Undaunted, she learned to fly as best she knew,
Fun-loving, impulsive, not fully aware,
A challenge to all who knew her to protect and help keep her safe.
Dear Cara, We failed you. We still don’t know how or when you died or why you were left alone in the field. It’s hard to imagine anyone who knew you could live with the secrets of your final hours.
Rest in peace precious angel. You are forever loved and deeply missed while we wait for truth to be revealed and justice served.
My hope is that the story of your struggles will inspire understanding and compassion so that others may enjoy the peace and freedom you were denied.
